Brief 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari starting from Kisoro Itinerary
Day 1: Meet up with your Tour Driver and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check in at your Lodge. Afternoon community walk is possible depending on your arrival time at the Lodge. Dinner and Overnight at your Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
We awake early morning to a hearty breakfast at 6.30am, You meet up with your guide at your Lodge and then proceed to the briefing point for the 8am briefing session. After a brief from the park guides on the do’s and don’ts and what to expect for the Trek, we set for the Jungle for an encounter of a lifetime with the mountain gorillas. The trek can take anywhere between 2 to 6 hours depending on how far the gorillas are. We return to the Lodge and relax waiting for the next day because the activity is tiresome.
Day 2: Lake Mutanda Boat ride and Community Tour.
After breakfast, we visit and interact with the local batwa and bafumbira communities. This visit enables you get an insight of how these local residents live in this part of the world and how they perceive life, this information is quite enriching. We take a lunch break and head for the boat ride on lake mutanda , quite soothing and amazing views of the virungas. Thereafter transfer back to Cyanika Border for your departure or proceed to tour rest of Uganda.

Where are Gorilla Found in Uganda?
Gorillas in Uganda are found in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with 22 habituated gorilla families and the Mt. Mgahinga National Park in South Western Uganda with one habituated gorilla family. Only 8 Tourists are allowed to track each family per day and the tracking time takes anywhere between 2 to 7 hours. Once you encounter the mountain gorillas you are only allowed upto 1 hr maximum time with them.
Gorilla Permits are always in limited supply despite the high demand. Reason being only 8 tourists are allowed to track a gorilla family per day and this is mainly for conservation reasons . A Gorilla Permit for Foreign Nationals costs $800 and $700 for Foreign Residents residing in Kenya. For East African Citizens the cost is Ugx. 250,000. However Gorilla Permit fees are included in all our packages provided by Eyalama Adventures.
Travel from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forests is easily accessed by a 1 hr and 20 minutes domestic flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro Airstrip. There after an hour road transfer to your lodge near the Gorilla Trekking Starting point in Bwindi.
If you choose to travel by road, this is a 9 hr scenic drive from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park in South Western Uganda.
