Who publishes this, and why
Visit Kisoro is an independent guide to Kisoro district in south-western Uganda. It exists because the information a traveller needs about this place is scattered across tour-operator pages that quote each other, and because the information a Ugandan needs about this place is not published anywhere at all.
How it is funded
The site is supported by Vestafi, a Ugandan company that helps people own income-producing property together rather than alone, and by Zenolius Homes, which operates furnished short-stay apartments in Kampala. Both are named openly on every page rather than hidden in a disclosure footer.
That support buys us the time to check prices. It does not buy favourable coverage of any lodge, operator or property. We take no payment for inclusion in the guide.
How prices are verified
Every figure carries the month it was checked. Permit rates come from published Uganda Wildlife Authority tariff reporting. Transport fares come from operator listings and route guides. Accommodation ranges come from published rates.
Where sources genuinely conflict, we say so instead of picking the tidier number. The permits page currently carries one such dispute.

What we are actually arguing
That a district which earns foreign currency from people who fly across the world to spend an hour with a gorilla should have more of its buildings owned by the people who live around it and by Ugandans elsewhere, rather than by whoever happened to have capital first.
We are not neutral on that. Everything else on the site, the prices, the routes, the permit rules, we try very hard to get exactly right.
Kisoro Field Notes: privacy
When you join Field Notes, Visit Kisoro stores your name, email address, visitor interest, source page and the times of your consent and submission in our Supabase database. We use these details to send the practical Kisoro updates you requested. Joining does not sign you up for Vestafi investor updates.
Only authorised operators can access the list. We keep your signup while you remain subscribed. To unsubscribe or request deletion, contact us on WhatsApp at +256 748 082669. We use short-lived, hashed request identifiers to limit spam; we do not store your raw IP address with your signup.
